A. Bahjat Shahbandar, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Shahbandar is a graduate of Aleppo University College of Medicine. He completed his first
post-graduate training in cardiology at the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom. He then earned his master’s degree in cardiology at the University of Glasgow with a special interest in arrhythmias and cardiac pacing.

He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Boston University School of Medicine/Carney Hospital where he was awarded the “Best Bedside Manner Award” and was elected chief medical resident. At the end of his residency training, his colleagues elected him to receive a “Contribution to the Department of Medicine” award.

Dr. Shahbandar completed a cardiovascular fellowship at Wayne State University, where he continued his invasive as well as Nuclear and Echocardiographic qualifications.

He received special training in biventricular permanent pacemaker implantation, the most updated management for patients with congestive heart failure.

Dr. Shahbandar is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
